We’re not aliens

IT was great news indeed to hear the High Court decision in the Brendan Thoms case that indigenous Australians cannot be aliens in their home land.

Slowly, slowly, Australian society is beginning to grow up. I don’t know when, but I do believe we will have a treaty that we cannot as well be alienated from ownership of our country. My greatest wish is that it happens in my lifetime. So many of our warrior men and women spent their lifetimes fighting for such change and didn’t get to see it happen.
