Greatness to help industry

-

MOST Far Northern residents know the region is a great place to live.

It’s also a great place to visit and the greatness is the focus of Tourism Tropical North Queensland’s new branding being launched today in front of 300 industry and community representatives as well as Tourism Minister Kate Jones and Tourism and Events Queensland’s chief executive Leanne Coddington.

Great is the new theme and also plays on great as in Great Barrier Reef.

Basically people will see “great” things, feel great and leave greater.

Seeing great is through remarkable experiences, feeling great is through making a genuine connection with the place and leaving greater as a person and by knowing that every visit makes a difference.

The great branding comes as the region grapples with the fallout of coronavirus.

It was planned well before the virus hit and the impacts which are now well and truly being felt.

Our great experiences will be drummed home to Australian holiday-makers as well as overseas in markets such as the UK, Europe and North America.

It’s not only the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropic rainforest that are great. The branding will emphasis great tropical food, great accommodation, the great Outback and great indigenous experiences.

The branding will encourage visitors to share their great experiences online and spread the word.

It is estimated the branding campaign has the potential to generate $50 million.

Tourism certainly needs a boost and this greatness may help give all optimism and motivation.
