Police find firearms

A TRINITY Park man will face court after he was allegedly found in possession of two unauthorised firearms. Officers intercepted the 62-year-old’s utility on the Captain Cook Hwy at Smithfield on Thursday morning and found he was driving while under a licence disqualification. Senior Constable Russ Parker said further inquiries resulted in a search warrant being executed at his home address, where two firearms were allegedly located and seized. The man was issued with a notice to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on August 25.
