Profits before people
IT seems some folk are putting profit ahead of people.
There are ongoing calls from business and tourism leaders in particular to “unlock” Queensland.
Naturally, they want to survive these unprecedented tough times remain in business, and tourists want to travel and explore our wonderful state.
Yet, this is counter to the advice of our most senior medical experts and the elected politicians charged with the responsibility of making tough and unpleasant decisions.
It is the latter who have drawn the line in the sand and the results speak for themselves, with coronavirus cases reducing to nil, according to the latest statistics.
We certainly do not want a second wave of this horrible virus, undoing all the good achievements so far.
Should Queensland opt to immediately throw open its borders, clubs, pubs, restaurants and our wonderful attractions, and take the risk, or continue to move cautiously?
