Poor weather increases concern for missing man

- GRACE MASON

SHOCKING weekend weather conditions have led police to hold serious concerns for the safety of a man who has been missing from Bentley Park for four days.

Bevan Lee, 53, was last seen walking in the area on Friday morning, with family raising the alarm later that day, prompting a large scale search.

The Rescue 510 helicopter, along with SES volunteers, continued to scour areas around Edmonton, Mt Sheridan and Bentley Park yesterday, but with no luck.

Acting Insp Glen De Lai said everyone was concentrating their search around the bushland and creek areas of those suburbs which the man was known to frequent.

He said they were unsure whether he may have suffered a medical condition and reissued a call for residents in those suburbs to check yards or sheds where he may have taken refuge during the adverse weather.

Acting Insp De Lai praised the community for their assistance with several calls coming in regarding possible sightings.

The man is described as caucasian, approximately 180cm tall with a proportionate build and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing black pants, a red shirt, a white jumper and boots.

He also wears glasses. Anyone who may have seen the man or has any information in relation to his current whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
