Bring back women’s sport

-

I AM one of probably millions of fans that can’t wait for the return of women’s sport.

My favourites are netball and women’s Test cricket, with the latter showing their natural use of finesse rather than the unnatural slog used in other forms of the sport, making this the perfect game for them and an absolute joy to watch.

I enjoy most women’s sport and the sooner they are back playing the better. But, only if it’s safe to do so.

Alan Sparks, Bungalow with proven science and facts in your arguments and avoid quoting wild theorist predictions.

The oceans are not rising in areas which are not subject to movement when the Earth’s plates move. The ice caps have increased in size and thickness according to NSSA and other monitoring bodies. The extreme bushfires are a result of humans, but not for the reasons you imply (backburning and clearing bans etc, have been reported in the aftermath as the main reasons), drought is a fact of life in Australia as are floods.

You are extremely over optimistic in your electric cars and battery expectations.

Don’t get me wrong, renewables have an important place in the word, but if you are really serious about helping Mother Earth join me in my fight to allocate some of the funds from solar and wind turbines to cleaning up our country’s land mass and oceans from human rubbish and let’s allocate some real funding to investigating nuclear power plants. Now, that will make a real difference to our nation.

I say again, it is human arrogance to think we can change Mother Nature, however, we can do a lot to support her. Paul Freebody, Cairns 2006: Australian actor Nicole Kidman and country singer Keith Urban marry in Sydney.
