Climate change sceptics can deny the science but they can’t deny the facts. With resource and energy industries along with banking corporatio­ns desperatel­y future proofing their business models. The looming threat from global warming catastroph­es driving the action.

The lawyers among us will recognise the term “ultra vires” - to act beyond legal authority. Our state borders are administra­tive only; the constituti­on precludes any other interpreta­tion. The test for the future will be, “Were Premier Palaszczuk’s ultra vires border closures permitted by our constituti­on?”
