On Rita Panahi
Not surprising to see, according to Rita Panahi, it’s all about the Labor state government in Victoria. Rita’s biased comments stop when it comes to the NSW LNP government and their recent spikes in the virus.

“Blame Labor, not Victorians” (CP, 14/07). Exactly, Rita Panahi. Dan Andrews will be remembered as the most incompetent and duplicitous Australian politician of all time and that takes some doing.

Rita Panahi needs a reality check. Why blame the government when the people are the ones that are blatantly ignoring rules? Holding parties and just ignoring social distancing. If the government never gave the protesters the right to protest I guarantee that we would be experiencing what America is going through now. Wake up people. The
Cairns Post only had the death of someone in America who called the virus fake in the paper yesterday. Obey the rules and we get rid of this virus once and for all.

House fires are increasingly rare, Jack (CP, 14/07), but bushfires are increasingly common. There is greater life and property loss in bushfires. What’s the point of four firefighters sitting with nothing to do? It only takes two to take the fire truck to a house fire and get started. Local volunteers can meet them there to assist. Meanwhile the other two $100,000pa highly-trained experts can be usefully preventing more-dangerous bushfires by reducing bushfire fuels. Winwin.

Once again, Mayor Manning is spending other people’s money like there’s no tomorrow (CP, 14/07). Ease up, Mayor. People get better value for their money when they spend it themselves. Go busy yourself filling potholes and stop sliding us into deeper debt.
Woz, Parramatta Park
Can someone tell me, if we “ramp up testing” (CP, 14/07), will we find more cases of people so dreadfully sick with the “deadly” COVID-19 that they didn’t know they had it?

One strike and you’re out. This should be the rule for pubs, clubs and nightclubs. If we are to contain the spread everyone needs to abide by the rules and it seems these venues constantly snub their noses at them and we will all suffer from their selfish and stupid behaviour. No excuses, close their doors immediately.

To pay or not to pay? Parking in the CBD unfortunately needs paid parking. If you don't, customers do not get a park as all the employees park outside their own place of work.

So Peter Beattie has put together an 11point plan to revive the state economy. If I remember correctly all his brilliant ideas during his decade as Premier ended with a grovelling apology. Bugger off.
