MISSED TOURISM CHANCE

-

ON Wednesday afternoon the rain and low cloud had cleared to reveal the awesome splendour of Barron Falls in full flood.

If you are a visitor wanting to escape your hotel room after the tropical deluge, how do you get to see this most spectacular waterfall?

Unless you have a rental car (in short supply), the most popular choices are not operating.

Skyrail was closed until Thursday and the Scenic Train can’t travel to Kuranda before Saturday, dependent on Queensland Rail declaring the track “safe”. Surely these two key Cairns tourist operations could be more flexible to allow our highly valued visitors to see our natural attractions at their very best.
