Storms are possible
STORMS are possible throughout the Far North on Tuesday after the Bureau of Meteorology warned of possible damaging winds and hail in parts of the region on Monday afternoon. But they were less likely to be as severe as on Monday, with the worst of the weather expected south of Townsville.
About 4.45pm on Monday, storm activity started to pick up on the Tablelands between Chillagoe and Mount Garnet.
“This unseasonal storm activity will be driven by a significant upper-level trough amplifying over the east,” the bureau said.
