MILLAA MILLAA

The sponsors today, Malanda Meat Co., would have been well pleased with the weather and the turnout for todays 4BBB event, don’t forget our sponsors are the heart of the weekly competition, so please support them.

The course is in superb shape and our visitor Steve Docker was very impressed with the whole setup, so much so that he partnered with his friend Brian Cole to win the event with an impressive 41 points, I am also told their personal battle ended equal.

Three teams finished on 40 points which of course meant a countback, but as luck would have it Guy Williams and Wayne Crowley were clearly the best of the three for the second nine. Nearest to the pins went to Ash Healy for 1/10, Graham Murray was nearest on 5/14 and Justin Cifuentes second shot on 6/15 was nearest on that green. We had our first winner for the mid week 9 hole competition and that was Alan Hapgood with 22 points, well done.

In the clubhouse enough tickets for two weekly draws and the winners were Greg Taylor and Graham Murray, the members draw was number 9, pity Jon Collins was away, so $40 is there to be won next week. This is another 4BBB sponsored by Malanda Bakery and for this one pick your own partner, see you here next week.

Just News: Before I forget, some get well wishes for a couple of members, Keith (Dicko) Dixon has had it tough for a while and Wayne (Chuck) Norris is getting some stuff sorted out, both of these guys are great club members and we wish them well. The new mower will be ordered next week and the old one will be up for sale as soon as it arrives, the main pump for the irrigation system has a problem, Dr. Ross had a look and with consultant Bob they agreed the condition may be terminal.

No sign of my hat so it looks like a mortgage on the house to buy a new one, I am told Tony Latimore may be on his way, I hope so as we need a roach to rag come State of Origin, and he’s a good bloke but don’t tell him I said that.

RAVENSHOE

Fabulous weather was the order of the day for the Mixed Foursomes championships at RMCC on Mother’s Day. Prudence Wright combined with Tom Symonds to take out the event, from Tarnia Wright and Jim Robinson.

Wednesday golf was won by Russell who also took the NTP. Anne was the best putter.

Please note some date changes: Next Sunday 16th we will play the Men’s and Ladies’ Foursomes. 27 holes with an 8.30 start. June’s Monthly Medal will move to 30th May and the Championships will move forward by a week with the first round 6th June. Second and third rounds will be 12/13 June. This weekend will also be the Rankine Shield. We are having our postponed Quiz Night on the 5th June.

Next Friday is Social night so C u @ the 19th
