LESS PR, MORE ACTION

-

IT’S interesting seeing the inevitable PR budget leaks, designed to get the government re-elected.

What Australia really needs to do is:

A. Fix the aged-care system and actually really look after our older Aussies after cutting funding as the government had previously done.

B. Fix the Australian banking system as was disclosed by the banking royal commission and still the issues keep coming out.

C. Fix government corruption by establishing an oversight body with powers like all states’ CMC bodies to prevent events such as sports rorts, political use of VIP flights, the buying of Sydney airport land at an inflated price, Robodebt-type debacles, and politicians telling blatant lies in parliament with no consequences, and compel ministers to respond to questions by the Australian Federal Police. The political pork barrel has to cease as it’s ordinary Australians who are suffering as a result.

D. Why are former prime ministers provided with office space, secretaries, travel, ICT, etc? Their job is finished and so should the benefits.

E. Bring NBN and Telstra to account as we have ongoing problems such as Lockhart cut off several times for lengthy periods.

Cairns northern beaches’ wireless internet and phones suffer from access and ongoing low signal strength and there are still many “black holes” in northern Australia.

F. Radio Australia was closed down so now China is the prime coverage to the Indo-Pacific area.

G. The slow rollout of COVID

vaccines has been a national disgrace and has caused much frustration for doctors who were left waiting.

H. The government also needs to build a lot of social housing as the huge and growing number of Australians who are homeless is continuing to increase.

And let’s not forget the Aussies who have had houses burnt down by bushfires and are still homeless.

In spite of much government PR, they are now largely again forgotten.
