Tahnee has sights set on Bachelor
IF former Cairns beauty Tahnee Leeson finds love in the ninth TV season of The Bachelor she has a good idea of where she’ll take pilot Jimmy Nicholson — the Far North. Ms Leeson, 27, now based in Victoria, believes love is on the horizon with a passion for travel something she and the Bachelor have in common.
FORMER Cairns beauty Tahnee Leeson is back on the dating scene and has her heart set on 31-year-old First Officer Jimmy Nicholson in the ninth season of The Bachelor.
Tahnee, 27, is a corporate travel manager now based in Victoria and says she is happy with the move south but still remembers the perfect tropical winters in Cairns.
Having reached her professional goals in Cairns, Tahnee’s love for travel took her to Europe.
Tahnee views Jimmy’s profession as a positive and can see them bonding over their love of travel.
“One of the first things is he’s a pilot and I work in the tourism industry and hearing that was music to my ears,” she said.
Moving to Victoria has allowed Tahnee to focus on her career and take a break from the dating world.
“Last year I stopped dating for a while, lockdown helped with that,” she said.
Time away from the dating scene has helped Tahnee reflect on what is important in her life and helped her make the decision to apply to be a bachelorette.
“The timing was perfect and I went in wholeheartedly and I’m glad I did,” she said.
When Tahnee met Jimmy for the first time she felt nervous but was immediately impressed.
“I was pretty nervous, (which was) quite surprising, I’m not normally nervous,” she said.
But Jimmy’s charms drew her in and confirmed that she’s made the right move in applying.
“He has this big amazing smile and his charisma draws you in,” she said.
Tahnee said the competition would be tough as she was up against 23 other young, beautiful women.
“The group is full of bold, confident women,” she said.
However, Tahnee plans to stand out by being her true self and observing quietly.
“I’ll stand out by not being outspoken, I’m more of an observer.
“There is definitely a thing of saying too much,” she said.
If Tahnee wins Jimmy’s heart a trip back to Cairns to show him the Reef is a probability.
“Maybe to the Reef — one thing I remember is the spectacular winter weather in Cairns,” she said.
The Bachelor will hit television screens on Wednesday at 7.30pm.
