DRAGONS REIGN IN 2ND DIV

-

ONE of the most consistent teams in north Queensland claimed its third Crad Evans title in four years after a crushing victory in the second division men’s final.

Douglas United thumped Brothers Townsville 4-0 to cap an outstanding season in the second division, in which it swept all before it to claim the treble.

The result was identical to the FNQ second division grand final a week ago, when it defeated Mareeba United.

Jamie Gosling and Ramiro Vilar were the Dragons’ most damaging this season as they combined for 57 goals – scoring 29 and 28 respectively – and turned their 10-point league premiership win into more silverware for the competition’s northernmost club.

It was their third Crad Evans title in four years, to go with wins in 2018 and ’19, to confirm themselves as one of NQ’s most consistent teams.
