COLES HITS RIVALS

COLES is taking on its rival supermarket giants Woolworths and Aldi with a new online marketplace that is set to shake up the way Australians shop.

From Wednesday, those who use the Coles’ website or app will be able to buy from a range of “Best Buys” online products that do not sit on supermarket shelves, including Apple products, table sets and ovens for their kitchens.

The move is aimed at using Coles’ growing customer base while at the same time broadening its retail offering. Coles general manager Jonathan Torr said the platform would offer lifestyle products.
