PUCOVSKI READY FOR TEST

-

WILL Pucovski will be ready for the opening Test at the Gabba even with one less match in preparation than his Victorian teammate Marcus Harris, who is ready now.

Victorian captain Peter Handscomb said Pucovski had been training, if only doing fitness work, after a 10th concussion forced him to take a break and miss his team’s opening Shield clash against NSW starting on Wednesday in Sydney.

Pucovski is on track to return in an MCG rematch starting on November 5, giving Harris, who Test captain Tim Paine said was “next in line” to open should Pucovski not be available, one extra chance to put his nose in front.

Harris scored three consecutive centuries for Leicestershire, including one innings of 185, during a winter playing county cricket in England,

“He’s ready to go,” Handscomb said of Harris.
