RODEO WHIPS UP THE FUN

MORE than 300 competitor­s are gearing up for the Mt Garnet Rodeo on May 1, with some 3000 spectators expected to attend.

Volunteers have been hard at work revamping the grounds, with a new grandstand and enhanced facilities.

Rodeo committee secretary Nicole Butler said spectators came from everywhere.

“We have people from

Brisbane, Sydney, across the Far North – all over the place,” she said.The rodeo will be held on May 1 but there are race days to enjoy on April 29 and

30 and a recovery breakfast at the golf club on May 2.

The committee has also launched the inaugural Mt Garnet Rodeo Queen Quest.

There will be food and a licensed bar all weekend for patrons to enjoy with camping facilities available.
