Shaq earns Souths spot

SHAQUAI Mitchell will make his NRL debut on Friday night after being named on South Sydney’s bench for the clash against Manly.

The older brother of Latrell Mitchell, “Shaq” has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround of his sporting career, having quit rugby league a few years ago amid a depression battle, after which he ballooned out to 167kg.

The 26-year-old prop shed 25kg in the pre-season and was selected for the Indigenous All Stars in February. Now Mitchell will break through to the NRL against the Sea Eagles.
