Man hurt in clash at hotel
DRAMATIC scenes unfolded at the front of a hotel in the Cairns CBD after a suspected assault late on Monday afternoon.
A police spokesman said they were called to the Mantra Trilogy on Abbott St about 5.30pm after a fight broke out between two people.
One man suffered significant injuries to his head, while the other person was taken into custody.
Paramedics arrived about 6.45pm and the injured man was later taken to Cairns Hospital.
The Mantra Trilogy closed its doors on Abbott St, but access was maintained for guests.
