Ange wants Celtic to run away with title

-

ANGE Postecoglou has urged his Celtic side to win the Scottish Premiership in style rather than limp over the line.

The Hoops remain six points ahead of arch rivals Rangers after the final Old Firm derby of the season as a 1-1 draw at Parkhead.

Had Postecoglou’s men won, they would have moved nine points clear and, with three rounds of the season remaining, taken an all-but unassailable grip on the title when also considering their vastly superior goal difference.

Despite the draw, the Hoops still have one hand on the trophy and could clinch it as early as this weekend when they meet Hearts, depending on the result of the match between Rangers and Dundee.

“We’re in a strong position with three games to go, and we’ve got two home games in those three,” former Socceroos coach Postecoglou said.

“We didn’t win the game (against Rangers) but we didn’t lose it either.”

Postecoglou’s next “challenge” for his team is to seal the title in emphatic fashion.

“We don’t want to sort of just get there – we want to finish strong,” he said. “We have so much more growth to do as a football team.”
