Three cars in accident
AN 80-year-old man has been taken to Mossman Hospital with chest and potential spinal injuries after being involved in a three-vehicle smash on the Captain Cook Highway on Tuesday.
Two Queensland Ambulance units, a Queensland Fire and Emergency Service truck and the Queensland Police were called to the scene at 8.25am on Coolalinga Drive in Killaloe, just north of Port Douglas. The Captain Cook Highway was blocked in both directions as a result.
The driver of the second vehicle was transported to hospital by private means, but escaped without physical injury. A third vehicle reported minor damage with the male driver and a child passenger not requiring treatment.
