Charges laid after CBD fracas

A 48-YEAR-OLD Biloela man has been given notice to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on a charge of committing public nuisance.

The man is expected to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on May 18.

This follows an incident that unfolded outside the Mantra Trilogy on Abbott St (below) about 5.30pm on Monday after a fight broke out between two people.

A police spokesman said the man was allegedly seen loitering at the front of the area, annoying patrons and residents and threatening bystanders.

The 48-year-old was then taken to Cairns Hospital with head injuries.

A Cairns Hinterland and Hospital Health Service spokeswoman said the man was discharged on Tuesday.
