Missing fisherman hope

POLICE are remaining hopeful that missing Townsville fisherman Colin Palmer will be found alive.

In an update provided to media on Tuesday afternoon, acting Chief Superintendent Chris Lawson said authorities were still “actively searching” for the missing man.

“Search efforts are continuing and we’re doing everything we can to make sure that all ground is covered to locate the fisherman and the vessel,” Superintendent Lawson said.

“Obviously, as time moves on, the chances of survival diminish, but we still maintain a hope that we will be able to find him alive.

“At the moment, we still have helicopters in the air looking, we’ve still got boats on the water and we’re making every effort we can to locate him.”
