One tough trip

IT was a tough outing for Cairns at the Hockey Queensland Open Championships at Brisbane.

The men’s team opened their trip with a hard fought draw against Mackay, but lost every game following that to finished 10th (0-1-4 record).

Meanwhile, Cairns’ women’s team thumped Warwick 7-1, but two draws resulted in the team being eliminated from finals with a 12-2 record.

Cairns finished equal seventh with Gladstone after a draw in the play-off.
