FALLS FESTIVAL DROPS HUGE LINE-UP

- ALEX DRUCE

EFFERVESCENT pop icon Lil Nas X will make his live Australian debut when Falls Festival resumes after a twoyear pandemic hiatus.

Lil Nas headlines an absolutely stacked line-up for the New Year’s event alongside British rockers Arctic Monkeys, Scottish electro trio Chvches, and Jamie xx.

Also announced on Wednesday, and with a similar line-up, is the Lost Paradise New Year’s festival, taking place at NSW’s Glenworth Valley.

Music fans will no doubt be waiting to see if the US star makes good on a teased collaboration with The Wiggles.

The home contingent will also be well represented across three Falls Festivals in Victoria, New South Wales, and Western Australia from December 29 to January 8, with local acts Amyl and the Sniffers,

Genesis Owusu, G Flip, Ocean Alley, Spacey Jane, DMA’s and King Stingray all on the bill.

Falls has been on ice for the past two years during Covid, while the 2019 Lorne event was cancelled after just one day due to the threat of bushfires.

Event organisers confirmed they would be moving Falls from its birthplace of Lorne this time around to Pennyroyal Plains at Birregurra.
