BJ (CP, 3/5) thinks the reason for the lower number of applicatio­ns to attend tertiary courses by students from North Queensland is because they’ve been brainwashe­d about climate change.

He should re-read the article. Educators put the reason down to the pandemic.

It’s interestin­g to note, however, that there has “been strong demand for JCU’s Bachelor of Marine Science degree”, evidence that young North Queensland­ers love their Reef and want to make a difference.
