Um just read Saturday’s paper. I’ll point out that the Labor Party with Albanese as leader will build 30,000 new social housing over five years – that is 6000 a year or 115 per week? Really Elida!

So Craig Kelly’s letter CP 7/5 claims giving him control of a trillion dollars of our super to save Australia, is like Curtin bringing back troops in WWII to save us. Sorry Craig, we’ve seen what pollies have done with a trillion dollars of our tax, now on May 21, we’ll make sure you keep your hands off our super.

Re: CBD/Bob Manning. Christina Darwen, what exactly should the mayor do? He’s not in charge of the police, courts or social services. He doesn’t make the laws, useless as they may be. He doesn’t have power to move itinerants, drunks and other problem people. The real culprits are politics, the legal system and ridiculous people constantly making excuses.

Malcolm Turnbull likes renewables billionaire Simon Holmes a Court’s extreme left “independents” (7/5). I feel so vindicated. I always said Turnbull was an extreme left infiltrator in the Liberals. JS, Edge Hill

Fran Clayton, when you speak of politicians with vague, warm thoughts, you’re speaking about Albo, right?

“Rise hurts hip pocket” (CP, 07/05). While it’s cashed up southerners buying houses now, when the defaults start from excessive interest rates, high inflation and contraction of the productive economy putting people out of work, it will be foreigners – particularly corporations – buying up our houses. Just in time for their Great Reset. You will own nothing and you will be happy, comrades.

MW, Redlynch

Why is there a “sense that wealth and privilege is associated with the right and conservative values” among youth? (CP, 7/5). The world’s richest and most privileged elites are almost all left wing, while a large percentage of the poorest working class people in all countries have conservative values. What the heck are schools and unis teaching these youths?

Helen, Cooktown

The Greens plan to end negative gearing will cause investors to sell their houses to owner-occupiers, which will remove them from the rental market and force more people into homelessness. Their plan to tax Australia’s 100 or so billionaires will cause them to pack up and move overseas. By “subsidies to fossil fuel companies” they’re talking about the tax concession for off-road vehicles. Ending those will simply force up the price of petrol, diesel and gas. The Greens policies are so anti-Australia it’s as if they work for China.
