WORLD HAS MOVED ON

-

PRIME Minister Scott Morrison and his economic progress at-all-costs crew are assailing us repeatedly with the same old tired mantra that has been casually responsible for disastrous weather events.

Dismissive references that their 26 per cent to 28 per cent carbon emission reductions by 2030 compared to the Green Party’s 75 per cent reduction will not have any appreciable effect on climatic forces.

Some North Queensland commentators have used the absence of cyclones as a measuring tool which carelessly overlooks the latitude slide of multiple east coast

lows down the eastern seaboard this and past years.

Floods, insurance costs, emergency services lives and rescue equipment deserve more than throwaway lines for the damages caused in property, livestock, community services, and time and effort taken out of our ordinary lives.

Business as usual, as promoted by Scott Morrison, is an irrational pipedream. The world has changed

and we must adapt to it. We must urgently switch from fossil fuels to renewables and live more considerate lives that are less based on throwaway consumables and prestige activities.
