STUDENTS SIZZLE IN SNAGGING GOODWILL

- JACK ARIEL AND JAMES DOBSON, YEAR 7, NEWMAN CATHOLIC COLLEGE

DURING Week 8 at Newman Catholic College, students from Learner Mentor Group 7-11 ran a sausage sizzle to raise money for the charity Project Compassion.

Project Compassion is run during Lent by Caritas. This organisation aims to raise money to help people in areas of the world that may need our help.

An example of a place close to Australia is the Solomon Islands, where Caritas have used fundraising money to make lives easier for people in Honiara.

Our sausage sizzle involved our teacher Mr Radburnd helping us to organise the equipment and food to sell on the day.

We are so grateful to Brumbies at Clifton Beach for donating the bread and for the Clifton Beach Butchers for helping with our fundraiser.

Students from our new college got to help out a worthy cause and we enjoyed our time working together as a team in our Learner Mentor Group.
