CROC MAKES HIS CHOICE IN PRE-ELECTION ‘SNAP POLL’

- SARAH CARROLL

LEICHHARDT’S main candidates came head-tohead on Tuesday for the gloriously tropical FNQ federal election taste test, Croc Poll.

Judged by Cairns ZOOM and Wildlife Dome resident croc, Goliath took a snap at his preferred candidate, with Warren Entsch taking home the win.

The Member for Leichhardt and LNP candidate said the event is one of the lighter moments of election campaigns.

“I’m not sure I’ve necessarily won or Goliath preferred the meat on the right-hand side but either way it’s a positive for me,” Mr Entsch said.

Labor candidate for Leichhardt Elida Faith said maybe Cairns’ favourite croc got it wrong.

“He’s only right 90 per cent of the time,” she laughed.

“I don’t pay any attention to the polls, let alone Goliath’s poll.”

CaPTA Group’s Ben Woodward said the Croc Poll has been a fun tradition over the years.

“It’s been really good today to have both candidates turn up in person, it’s a first for us, and it shows they’re both really good sports.”
