MIGHTY MOORE MARKS 350TH GAME WITH CRUCIAL GOALS FOR CROCS

-

PORT Douglas’ beloved tough mid Dan Moore marked his 350th game in round 4.

Moore has been one of the biggest cogs in Brad Cooper’s Port premiership machine that brought five flags to the town.

In almost fairytale fashion, Moore’s two goals in his milestone game came in the closing minutes of Port’s clash against the Saints to put his team on top by four points, as they outlasted their old rivals 100-96.

“(Brad) Coops came out and told me to go forward – I was a little bit angry about it actually,” Moore told AFL Cairns after the final siren.

“But it worked out.

“They’re (Saints) a good side too, they’ve got plenty of young kids so they were always going to be fresh and ready to run it out. We just sort of had to stick with it and we managed to hold on so it was good.”

Despite his best on ground performance against the Saints, Moore said nothing will top the glory years of Port’s premiership heyday of the last decade.

“You can’t beat the premierships mate,” he said.
