STANDING UP TO TACKLE VIOLENCE
AFL Cairns will be putting its women’s teams on centre stage this Saturday in the league’s Stand Up to Domestic Violence round.
All three games will be played at Cazalys Stadium.
The Lions and Hawks will get the action going at 9.30am, before the Tigers and Bulldogs from 11am, capped off with the Cutters and Saints from 12.30pm.
The round has annually attempted to raise awareness and conversations about domestic and family violence in Far North Queensland.
Funds raised from the fixtures will go towards a relevant charity which has yet to be decided.
The round preludes the Dreamtime by the Sea Indigenous round, which will be held in round six (May 21).
