WEST CAIRNS TPI

This week we had 12 players competing on the green including the two players from Sydney who joined us last week. Winners decided at the end of the game were the team of Rosemary Stevens, visitor Derm, and was led by Fred Clarke. Once again passing showers made the game challenging for the players. It is hoped that some of our players who live outside the city area will be able to join us next week if the weather is favourable. Visiting bowlers from any area are always welcome to join us by simply contacting Rosemary, our selector, on 0409 624 623 any time during the week and she will provide any information required. The game is played on the carpet green at West Cairns each Monday afternoon which is protected from the weather and can be lit electrically if required. Game commences at 1.30pm after cards are called at 1.15pm. It is important that all players be available at that time. After a break for a substantial afternoon tea (provided as part of the green fee), the game concludes around 4.30pm when a single card with the names of the winning players is drawn and they are awarded with a small cash prize. Most of our players are advanced in age but all games are played in a friendly non-competitive manner which is a feature of our club. Age of the players is no concern to us. We hope to meet you soon.
