AT LAST IT'S ON WITH THE SHOW

- ISAAC MCCARTHY

THE Red Hot Summer Tour returns to Cairns this weekend with a gold-plated line-up ready to blow the hearing aids out of the most diehard Cairns rock 'n' roll tragics.

Event organiser Joshua Jones expects 6000 fans will rock up to see some of the jewels in Australia’s music crown, including Hunters and Collectors and The Angels.

“Cairns is always a favourite for the artists. Cairns people rock out the hardest,” said Mr Jones.

The show is licensed all ages. Children under six years old enter free.

“It’s a family event. Bring the kids along to see some Aussie rock icons.” Despite Saturday afternoon’s weather looking clear of showers, event organisers encourage families to bring camp chairs and picnic blankets to avoid the damp ground.

Tickets can be bought online via Ticketmaster and at the venue gates, which open at 1pm Saturday, May.

Set times as follows:

Chocolate Starfish: 1.25 to 2.05pm.

Killing Heidi: 2.25 to 3pm.

Baby Animals: 3.20 to 4.05pm.

The Angels: 4.30 to 5.20pm.

The Living End: 5.45 to 6.35pm.

James Reyne: 7.00 to 8.00pm.

Hunters and Collectors: 8.30 to 9.30pm.
