Kiwi great to coach England

FORMER New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum is expected to be confirmed as England’s new Test coach as early as Friday.

The 40-year-old emerged as the favourite from a field to replace Chris Silverwood, who was sacked after the 4-0 Ashes defeat in Australia.

McCullum is coach of IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders.

England was on Thursday in discussions with McCullum over a contract.
