Squandering our wealth on the Reef when it is the most resilient ecosystem on earth is a total insult to the taxpayers who own that money.

I’d rather see a race to explain how the Liberals and Labor are going to pay off what they already owe than a race to spend even more that they’ll borrow in our names.

The cost of living (CP, 14/5) is going through the roof and everything coming out of ALP/LNP mouths will make it worse. Along with the Greens, they believe in high-octane magic pudding economics.

Well said, George (14/5). Nuclear has advanced a lot in recent decades and if we want to cut down on carbon dioxide plant food we need to build nuclear power plants. Only the UAP is proposing to do so.

Absolutely loving the NRL Magic round in Brisbane. But in the doom and gloom of the rain the footy jerseys had no sparkle in them. Come on NRL clubs put some magic into the event and make a special commemorative jersey for the players and fans.

Re: Susie O’Brien’s column (CP 14/05).
Mullets go back too far for me to remember in our history – but I can remember an old saying Mrs O’Brien and that’s “Never Judge a Book by its Cover”!

How come neither Labor or Liberals have promised to rebuild our domestic pharmaceutical industry? Did they learn nothing from the Covid pandemic? It was those two parties who sent our pharmaceutical industry to China under the 1970s Lima Agreement.
David, Redlynch
Roland Ziegler, I certainly agree with you but for some strange reason the majority of voters are likely to re-elect either a Labor or Liberal government instead of giving someone else a go. Mark, Redlynch
American founding father Thomas Jefferson said, “It is incumbent on every generation to pay its debt as it goes”. But the debt that the Labor and Liberal parties created in the name of Covid, will take six to eight generations to pay off.

DJ Whitfield (CP 14/5), if what you say is true, football stadium would be able to prove a viable business case study. If you want it, have the big end of town pay for it. Not uninterested in footy bleeding rates and taxpayers.
