A FORMER cane farmer has celebrated his 100th birthday in style with lots of cake and decorations at Warrina Innisfail aged-care home.

Bruno Foschi celebrated on the morning of Friday, May 13, with his friends, family, staff and residents.

Mr Foschi, who was born in Roma, moved to Mena Creek in 1952 at the age of 30.

He married his wife, Patricia, in 1957 and has three daughters and one son.

He is very family oriented and is the fifth child out of eight. Mr Foschi has been part of the Innisfail community since 1967.

He always worked hard for his family, working in areas including Toowoomba and Weipa.

Warrina Innisfail board of directors vice-president Kevin Bliss said he was a very popular member of the facility and everyone enjoyed Friday.

“It was a really nice day for him to celebrate 100 and still be as cheeky as he was 50 years ago,” he said.

“He’s been in our facility for seven years now. He’s a very popular man.”
