INJURY STOPS WOMEN’S GAME

AFL Cairns had its first nasty injury for the season, with Cairns City Lions player Gail Sevallos suffering a serious knee injury in round 5.

Sevallos’ knee appeared to have buckled on the come down from an attempted mark against the Hawks.

The injury stopped play for about 20 minutes before play was abandoned in the third.
