Update on crash inquiry

- MARK MURRAY

FORENSIC police have given an update on the investigation into the death of a much loved Innisfail woman who was tragically killed on the Bruce Highway earlier this month.

Spirited adventurer and admired grandmother Bernice Prats died on May 3 after a trailer of a truck smashed onto her campervan at Goolboo.

Forensic Crash Unit investigators put out an appeal to speak to the driver of a large truck which was travelling in front of the caravan, which they have since done.

“Police have identified all parties involved in the crash, including the truck driver,” a Queensland Police spokesman said.

Ms Prats, 80, was the sole occupant of the campervan when it crashed on the Bruce Highway, south of Innisfail. She died at the scene.

The forensic crash unit is continuing investigations over the incident and could not comment further.
