Bellamy recommits to Storm for another year

-

SUPER coach Craig Bellamy is staying at Melbourne Storm.

The veteran coach (pictured) told Storm chairman Matt Tripp of his decision on Wednesday and was expected to share the news with his players at a team meeting in the afternoon.

Bellamy has agreed to a one-year exten- sion that will keep him at the Storm until the end of the 2023 season.

He has until March next year to tell the Storm if he’s prepared to go for longer.

It is a huge boost for the Storm going into the big game against the Cowboys in Townsville on Saturday night. Bellamy’s decision could affect the future of champion five-eighth Cameron Munster, who is off contract at the end of next season and being courted by at least seven clubs.

His agent Braith Anasta has always said that the fiveeighth’s decision would be based around Bellamy’s future. “He (Munster) loves playing for Bellyache,” Anasta said. The fact Bellamy has agreed to only a one-year extension leaves Munster’s decision still up in the air.
