FRESH IDEAS FOR FAMILIES AT TANKS MARKETS

- ANDREAS NICOLA

FAMILIES were out in force for the monthly Tanks Markets on Sunday, soaking up the sunshine while browsing local art, sweet treats and some rare plants.

Stallholders assembled around Tanks Arts Centre were kept busy, including one new arrival, Koitaki

Nu Nu Greenhouse. The plant stall’s co-owner, Rob Wood, said the first day at the markets was a success.

“It was great, everyone was interested. We had a lot of people through,” Mr Wood said.

“All three of us co-owners were very happy.

“It is a great market with lots of friendly people.”

The stall has rare plants, including philodendron varieties, and plantrelated craft including funking aprons made by co-owner Annie Wolff.

The Tanks Art Centre Sunday Markets are on once a month until November, except in August, when Carnival on Collins takes place.

The next markets will be held on June 26.
