BABY DEATH CASE
A WOMAN under police guard in hospital has yet to be interviewed after a sixmonth-old baby was discovered dead in a suburban Melbourne home.
Officers were called to a house in Mernda after reports a child had been critically injured about 9pm on Friday.
When police got to the house, the sixmonth-old child was dead.
The 36-year-old woman, who had lifethreatening injuries, was flown to hospital and remains there under police watch.
“Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage,” a Victoria Police statement said.
