COUNCIL APPROVES THIRD STAGE OF MT PETER RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT THAT WILL YIELD 158 NEW HOUSES.
All the blocks should be “larger size”. Living on small blocks is not fun for anyone. I can hear my neighbour sneeze and flush the toilet.
Nicole Wynn
Is that it? To be honest there’s more homeless than that on Cairns’ streets.

ON ALDI SQUASHING SPECULATION OF OPENING A STORE IN FNQ AFTER ANNOUNCING A STORE IN TOWNSVILLE.
I know where I’ll be going next time I’m in Townsville. I’ll be stocking up on certain things.
Susan Davenport
Cairns needs one. I love Cairns but it’s very behind in the times. They don’t even have trains to get around the place or even tap-and-go on buses.
Tanzy Griffith
Please open one in Cairns. Aldi is needed up here.

ON TRADITIONAL OWNERS SIGNALLING AN INTENTION TO TAKE ON THE MANAGEMENT OF DOUBLE ISLAND.
I agree with locals managing it and having more access for day visits, even camping. This should not be a matter of indigenous or non indigenous, it should be a matter of public use and best practice.
David Jackson
This could be a great and inclusive way to learn about and showcase Double Island. There are plenty of places operating already, run and facilitated by local traditional owners and they are extremely beneficial to all. I’d much rather it in the hands of the traditional owners than an overseas investor.
Bee Jesse
Let me guess, they take it over, we the taxpayers fix it up for them, it gets run into the ground and we fix it up again.

Put it out to a lease application … like it always has been. A commercial enterprise. End of story.

ON TRIBUTES FOR FAR NORTH FOOTBALL IDENTITY BRIAN STOPFORD.
Stoppie was a legend in FNQ football. I met him while I was involved with MCR way back in late 80s. He was a special bloke and a good friend. He did a lot for soccer in FNQ. You will be missed mate.
Tim Cherry
He was an awesome sports teacher too. RIP Brian Stopford.

ON HINTS OF AN “EXCITING” BARLOW PARK ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE WORKS.
There will never be a proper football stadium with a running track around the field.
Raymond Greig
Wasting more money. Stadiums must be privately owned.
