Nature abhors a vacuum, so when the government stops the police from doing their job and locking up criminals regardless of age or genetic inheritance (CP, 18/5) we get a rise in vigilantism. That’s not the fault of the vigilantes who only want a peaceful law-abiding community – it’s the fault of the Palaszczuk Government.

It’s pretty clear given what’s happening in the US, that the rights agenda was is to reduce freedoms and choices for minorities and women, while ensuring their gun carrying cronies are free to kill children unchecked. We need to take a lesson from this. Freedoms are hard fought for, and easily destroyed. We all need to ensure those that attack and vilify minority groups are held to account. Racism needs to be called out as well. The left in this country is just as adept of selling their totalitarian ideology.

I think that beer should be cold, and boots should be dusty. I think terrorism is bad. And freedom? Well, I think that’s just a little bit better.

Australia is a racist country. Not just for considering putting racial inequity in the Constitution, but for refusing to correct the behaviour of recidivist juvenile Indigenous offenders, thus locking them into a lifelong crime cycle.

The Qld Premier recently at a news interview said that there would no changes in her cabinet. Another false statement. As the iceberg gets nearer, will moving deck chairs stop the sinking of Labor in Queensland.

So the Premier is doing a reshuffle. Passing the blame. If only the Premier could reshuffle her position, then it would be Steven Miles, a catch-22 situation. At last the Premier now realises her Government is on borrowed time.

Interesting to note Donald Trump jnr is coming to town to give us a pep talk on “Trumpism,” a far-right progun polarising cancer that has torn the United States of America apart. Good luck trying to get Aussies to follow that way of life.

Re: Departure of DFS Galleria from Cairns (cnr Abbott and Spence streets). Have not once step foot in there. Have never seen it busy. No surprise it is shutting down.
Candice, Cairns
Most people fail to understand that even though many locals have never set foot in the place (DFS Galleria), it employed many locals. And the money they earn was spent where do you think … in the community. Not to mention paid their bills. It’s a massive loss for the whole community regardless if you never shopped there. Not to mention for those who specifically came to shop there. Good chance they wandered in to other shops along the way, or stopped to grab a bite or for a drink.
