Three Far North residents have raised awareness for various charities through new reality hit TV series Adventure All Stars and Adventure All Stars Legends.

Cassandra Jovner will represent ADHD Australia, a charity she has had personal dealings on the Channel 7 program.

“I have a 12-year-old son who has ADHD and autism and ADHD Australia has provided resources for myself as a parent on how to support my son so he can go to school successfully and learn and contribute in the classroom,” Ms Jovner said.

Ms Jovner, who will begin filming next February, said she hoped to raise $15,000 for the cause before travelling to film.

“They don’t tell us where we’re going. You just get on the plane and arrive and film in an unknown location for six days,” she said.

While contestants are expected to take part in a series of diverse cultural and adventure experiences, former Adventure All Stars contestant turned legend, Nicola Baker, said to expect the unexpected.

“We don’t really know what we’re doing until we’re literally doing it because they keep it very secret,” she said.

Ravenshoe’s Nicola Baker, a founder of Moya Moya Australia, wrapped filming in Vanuatu earlier this month, for a special episode Adventure All Stars Legends.

Mrs Baker and long-time friend Gail Barton, will represent Far North Queensland as they advocate for their chosen charities.

Ms Barton has chosen to highlight cancer charity This Strong Mum which provides support to families of children diagnosed with cancer while Mrs Barker will represent Moya Moya Australia which raises funds for the rare, progressive cerebrovascular disorder which mainly affects children.

Mrs Baker founded Moya Moya Australia after her now 19-year-old son Jed was diagnosed with the disease as a child.

“We as a family didn’t have a lot of support so I launched it to help people with funding, research and emotional support they otherwise wouldn’t have,” she said.

Prior to production, each of the cast members raised funds for their nominated charity before being invited to star in the television event.

The reality show, available to stream on 7 Plus, is expected to launch later this year.
