Newcastle, you have a problem. Your halfback is all flair, but takes you nowhere. The half is your linkman. When the game was there to win in the last minute, he wasn’t trailing his second rower. He watched him run to the line and get tackled. Switch your halves around for one game and see what happens.

State government transparency - I believe that both Mrs Y Entsch and Premier Miles both need to answer the relevant questions around Mrs Entsch’s potential conflict of interest and Premier Miles’ involvement with the unions prior to his appointment as Queensland Premier.
Queenslanders deserve the truth from all potential or current politicians if they want our votes in October 2024. Honesty and trust is paramount for any government representatives.

You know what desperation is when people would eat grass if there was any. Drought, famine, floods and war impact many around the world. We really are the lucky country, yet our foreign aid contribution is one of the lowest among developed countries. Come on Australia. Step up.

Hey, Bruce of Mareeba (Texts, 13/04).
You’re sniping anonymously from the sidelines on behalf of a Labor government that has made everything worse for Labor voters. Peter Campion is standing up for the residents of Cook against the useless lunatics you’re serving with such mindless loyalty. You sound like you’ve been boosted.

Re: Tanya Murphy, Parramatta Park CP 12/4. Racking up $1.5 trillion debt to dynamite blast, excavate and bulldoze forests, native wildlife, ocean shores and prime farming lands will have zero effect on ocean temperatures. Perhaps green cult alarmists, scientists cashing in on the green cult gravy train should do at least one environmental impact statement on massive cruise ships, some creating up to 3000 gallons of sewerage per day, and their effect on coral reefs.

The Bondi massacre and other killings in Australia are the responsibility of psychiatric treatment failures.
State governments in the seventies began closing down psychiatric hospitals due to costs and wokes demanding patients be released to the community where they would be managed by community mental health services. Obviously it saved money but it does not help the patients. Mental health issues are not 9–5 or only five days a week.
I spent eight years working in psychiatric hospitals and admission wards. Daily I see people with issues that deserve and need treatment. They need to be hospitalised, treated with medication and psychotherapy. The reason – like all patients, the patients stop taking medication when they start feeling better.
That does not work with psychiatric patients.
