OLYMPIC shooter Dane Sampson showed no signs of any post-Games blues during a successful Toowoomba stopover at the weekend.
Sampson picked up where he left off after representing Australia at the London Games to show how things are done at the Toowoomba Small Bore Silhouette Rifle Club’s annual Carnival of Flowers Prize Shoot.
Sampson, the defending champion in both the prone and air rifle disciplines, showed his class to shoot two Queensland records of 593 from the possible 600 and 397 from the possible 400 in the 60 shot and 40 shot air rifle matches respectively.
Sampson finished 52 points clear of his nearest rivals Alyce Devlin and Cliff Walker, both from Brisbane, who finished in second and third places.
