Medical precinct to service city’s north

-

NORTH Toowoomba residents will have access to a new medical precinct when Northpoint Shopping Centre opens in March next year.

The precinct will consist of a doctors’ surgery and a number of allied health facilities as well as a new Priceline Pharmacy.

Toowoomba developer Heath Knox said Northpoint Shopping Centre’s location seemed the perfect fit for a new medical precinct to be included in the construction.

“This location, on Ruthven St in North Toowoomba, is currently under serviced in terms of doctors’ surgeries and allied health for the surrounding communities,” Mr Knox said.

“By having these facilities here will be a huge boost for people living in North Toowoomba as well as those living in the expanding regional areas north of Toowoomba including Highfields, Meringandan and Crows Nest.

“With Northpoint Shopping Centre being located only 3km north of the Toowoomba CBD and positioned fronting on to two main arterial roads, Ruthven and North Sts, people travelling to these outlying areas will be able to conveniently access these facilities.”

Priceline Pharmacy’s Tom Khoo said he was looking forward to opening at Northpoint and working with those involved in the medical precinct.

“We will be working closely with the medical and allied health practices to build an excellent medical precinct to cater for an under serviced area in North Toowoomba,” Mr Khoo said.

“This will be the second Priceline Pharmacy in Toowoomba with the other one opening soon at Westridge Shopping Centre.”

The medical precinct consists of an allied health area of 270m2, a further 460m2 for the GP/medical clinic and Priceline Pharmacy using 350m2.

Mr Knox said there were still medical and allied health opportunities available and for more information interested parties should contact Graeme Wakefield on 0400 010 536.
