Roma light steers make 208c/kg

A TOTAL of 7500 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 208c/kg and averaged 161c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 200c/kg and averaged 164c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 200c/kg and averaged 149c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 177c/kg and averaged 155c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 172c/kg and averaging 160c/kg.

Wallockatoo Pastoral Co, Wallockatoo, Wandoan, sold EU Santa-cross steers to 200c/kg for 298kg to return $596/head. The consignment averaged 198c/kg for 241kg to make $478 a head.

West Hill Trust, West Hill, Blackall, sold Santa steers to 197c/kg for 207kg to return $409 a head. The consignment averaged 191c for 198kg to make $378 a head.

J and S Nichol, Ridgewell, Roma, sold Angus steers to 194c/kg for 289kg to make $562 a head.

W, P, and D Brumpton, Mitchell, sold Santa-cross steers to 186c/kg for 212kg to return $396 a head. The consignment averaged 175c/kg for 230kg to make $403 a head. The Santa-cross heifers hit 144c/kg for 223kg to return $322 a head. The consignment averaged 141c/kg for 195kg to make $274 a head.

B and N Bauer, Arlington, Augathella, sold Simmental-cross steers to 176c/kg for 240kg to return $422 a head. The consignment averaged 172c/kg for 222kg to make $382 a head. The Simmental-cross heifers reached 151c/kg for 274kg to return $415 a head. The consignment averaged 151c/kg for 232kg to make $349 a head.

M and L Huntly, Kilburnie, Muckadilla, sold EU Santa-cross steers to 175c/kg for 243kg to return $426 a head. The consignment averaged 171c/kg for 240kg to make $410 a head.
