Wild dog funding

THE battle against wild dogs across the Darling Downs has received $50,000 in State Government funding to assist local councils and industry to ramp up control programs.

The funding has been announced for the “Wild Dogs in the Check Fence” project and involves Western Downs, Toowoomba and Goondiwind­i Regional Councils, Biosecurit­y Queensland, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, and Landcare.

Local baiting programs in the Toowoomba Regional Council area will be from August 27 to 28 and in the Western Downs Regional Council area from September 16 to 20.
